were good and very reasonable.

Lots of local places to eat just off the square were very good value for money. A visit to the Salt mines is a must.
Take only a few Zlotys with you and exchange at the local sellars in Krakow as you will get a better deal.

This hotel was excellent for our trip to Krakow, Nice and quiet for sleeping, after being put into an attic bedroom, I complained and was immediately moved to a lovely room, The hotel staff were excellent and so helpful R.e booking tours and giving advice, I would certainly go back. Thank you.

A lovely restuarant and bar, the food here was great and the staff were very good too.
Our trip to Austwisc and Birkenau was so moving, how can people do this to other people? Never forget them. Wawel castle was very close and the main square was only ten minutes walk from here.

This hotel is certainly not a 4 star, it is in need of a coat of paint and a very good clean. There were footprints on the ceiling, very old and cheap looking furniture, no fridge and no ventilation.

Eating Out In Krakow.
If you are on a tight schedule and want fast service wherever you go tell the staff and keep reminding them as simple snacks can take over an hour to appear! I would thoroughly recommend dining out at the Orient Ekspress on Stolarska (close to the main square), the food and service were fantastic, no lengthy waits and the staff speak perfect English. Not as cheap as some of the other restaurants but the quality of food was far superior to other places that we tried. £60 for 3 people, 2 courses with a good bottle of French Wine and Digestifs.
Currency and Money Exchange.
Do not buy all your currency for your trip in the UK, take some just to tide you over for the first day and visit a Kantor (money exchanger) or the Orbis Office on the main square to convert GBP as the rates are far better. I got 4.5PLN to 1GBP in the UK and in Poland it was 5.1PLN to 1GBP.
